Lateesha Mohl making pro kickboxing debut against Jessica Ruiz

Combat sports fighter, Lateesha Mohl joined Carroll’s Corner MMA Podcast to discuss her upcoming fight with RFC Promotions. Mohl is set to make her professional kickboxing debut against Jessica Ruiz. The bout is scheduled to occur on June 23, 2023, at the Melrose Ballroom in Queens, New York.

Mohl, 0-0, is coming off a victory in boxing back in December of 2021, against Amber Swift. In her last mixed martial arts bout, Mohl defeated Rosie DeMatteo via TKO in round 2 on Long Island.

In the interview, Mohl speaks about the positivity that the two wins have helped motivate her in training. Before her victory over DeMatteo, Mohl went 1-7 inside the MMA cage. This humble fighter makes no excuses though for her failures inside the cage but notes the changes in training and experiences inside the cage have a direct correlation to her recent success in MMA, BJJ, and boxing.

Ruiz, 0-0, a veteran in the combat sports world is also making her professional kickboxing debut. Ruiz has fought twice inside the Bellator cage at Bellator 208 and 251. In addition, Ruiz has also fought on the Combate Global: Castillo vs Lloredas fight card in Miami, Florida. Even with all of her experience, Ruiz is battling to get back in the win column after suffering three losses since going professional in MMA.

In her interview on the CCMMA Podcast, Mohl speaks about the mental preparation she takes every day to be able to focus on her upcoming bout. The Pennsylvania fighter describes the different breathing techniques she uses to help her meditate. Mohl also informs us she’s balancing training, waiting tables for work, and finishing school, which she will be graduating in August.

Mohl has T-shirts on sale for her fight through MMATeeCo.
