Middleweight World Lethwei Champion Too Too to defend against Ukrainian star Vasyl Sorokin

WLC: BARE-KNUCKLE KING TO TAKE PLACE IN MYANMAR’S CAPITAL CITY OF NAYPITAW ON 17 FEBRUARY

Yangon, Myanmar- World Lethwei Championship (WLC), the world’s largest bareknuckle fighting organization, have announced a historic event headlined by the first ever Middleweight World Lethwei Championship title defense. Middleweight World Lethwei Champion Too Too will defend his title for the first time against Ukrainian star Vasyl Sorokin. The title defense will take place at WLC: BARE-KNUCKLE KING, the first global martial arts event to be held in Myanmar’s capital city of Naypitaw on 17 February. The first-ever lethwei bout under the World Lethwei Championship umbrella will also take place when Shwe Sin Min takes on Cambodia’s Eh Yanut.

WLC: BAREKNUCKLE-KING will be broadcast live in Myanmar on Skynet Sports at 7pm (Yangon Time) and 40 countries globally. Check your local listings.
Chairman of World Lethwei Championship, U Zay Thiha, stated, “For the first time in history, the capital of Myanmar Naypitaw will play host to a global martial arts sporting event. After a 2017 fight of the year contender that crowned Too Too as the undisputed Middleweight Lethwei World Champion, he will defend his title for the first time against Ukrainian superstar Vasyl Sorokin. World Lethwei Championship, the biggest bareknuckle fighting organisation in the world, will be broadcast to 40 countries in the world as 100 million people will witness the greatest martial arts spectacle in the world!”

Too Too is regarded as one of the best lethwei fighters in history. In more than 40 lethwei fights, he has never been defeated and has been on an unprecedented winning streak that has led him to become the Middleweight World Lethwei Champion. A defensive counterpuncher who also likes to turn the fight into a brawl, he cemented his legacy by beating multiple-time kickboxing champion Michael Badato to becoming the inaugural Middleweight World Lethwei Champion.

Vasyl Sorokin is one of the fastest rising stars in the world of kickboxing. Hailing from Kharkov, Ukraine, Sorokin has already been in more than 20 major fights, including a victory over Thai superstar Sudsakorn last year. Standing at 185 centimetres, he will be looking to exploit his height and reach advantage against Too Too.

Shwe Sin Min is a 21-year old rising lethwei star based out of Yangon. Considered the top female fighter in the country, Shwe Sin Min is captivating hearts and minds as a pioneer for women in lethwei.

Eh Yanut is Cambodia’s top female fighter. She comes from martial arts royalty as her father, Eh Phutong, is considered one of the greatest fighters to have ever emerged from Cambodia. She has stepped out of her father’s shadows with impressive performances of her own and will now test her against Myanmar’s best in lethwei.
