Losene Keita breaks leg in MMA fight, still proposes to girlfriend in cage

Losene Keita suffered his first professional mixed martial arts loss on Saturday as his OKTAGON 45 interim featherweight championship bout against Mate Sanikidze was stopped due to injury.

The 25-year-old “Black Panther” was attempting to unify the 145lb division against Sanikidze after already securing the lightweight and interim featherweight titles. Keita started strongly against his Georgian opponent, throwing a leg kick, but was soon in trouble following completion of a successful takedown. It is uncertain if he injured his leg with the kick but he definitely could not continue as he tried to stand back up.

After the fight was called off, Keita refused treatment and instead propsed to his girlfriend inside the cage.

The now-engaged fighter later took to his Instagram, posting ‘I always come to put a show, but yesterday it didn’t went like expected.

‘Unfortunately the fight was stopped after I broke my leg with my first kick, in the first minute of the fight.

‘I’m convinced that this is not the way Sanikidze wanted to win the fight, we should have a rematch to settle things in a proper way.

‘This is not over yet, I’ll be back!’
