On the card is 27-year old Luis Razuri, an actor who has been featured in several independent films.
The uptown Manhattan resident currently trains in Queens at Kai Next Level Mixed Martial Arts. Razuri will take on Benny Garcia.
Razuri’s amateur mixed martial arts record is one win two losses, but his experience inside the cage does not stop there. He has also competed in Muay Thai fights and started training martial arts with Ninjitsu.
“I have been doing martial arts for about seven years but MMA .. for about year and a half,” Razuri said.
When this future academy award winner is not protecting his face from punches he enjoys playing soccer, painting and drawing.
Razuri has two independent movies to his credit already. He has a small part in a film called Mikey Boy and a larger role in Forensic Connection.
“I got into it (acting) at school.I was taking preforming arts,” he said.
Razuri is a realist and knows that there is no acting when it comes to stepping into the cage. In speaking of his opponent in Garcia, Razuri said “I know he was a wrestler so I should be careful with his takedowns.”
“And to beat him I will say always keep attacking not even give him and inch to think or apply his strategy.”
According to his coach at Kai Next Level Mixed Martial Arts, Kai Malik Evers, “Luis is a very dedicated hard working fighter, first one on the mat last one off the mat.”
“Luis trains and works til’ 4am then takes a two-hour ride to my house just in time for a 2 hour nap before he gets up for morning training and does it all over again. When it comes to loyalty Luis holds the crowd.”
“He is resident of Manhattan and travels by train two and a half hours back and forth to the Queens Gym, he holds a brown belt in karate / ninjutsu & and a BJJ blue belt with two stripes along with a strong wrestling background.”
