Luke Rockhold ready for fight with Tim Boetsch, still bitter over Belfort loss
Luke Rockhold was a hot commodity and a fantastic addition to the UFC middleweight division. The former Strikeforce middleweight champion made his UFC debut in Brazil against Vitor Belfort. The debut was one that left a bitter taste in Rockhold’s (11-2) mouth.
The use of Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) by Belfort was negatively viewed by Rockhold and it has been a controversial debate in the MMA world.
In an interview with TheShoot!, Rockhold acknowledges the task of facing Tim Boetsch (17-6), and he also wants to fight Belfort again. Rockhold says Belfort went into hiding and will come out again.
Rockhold has also gone on the record on FOX Sports with Damon Martin landing some jabs the Brazilian.
“I’ll go back down to Brazil and fight Vitor on steroids. He’s not going to land that kick again. I will overcome Vitor Belfort. No matter what, steroids or not, doesn’t matter to me. Lightning will not strike twice”.
The betting lines have Rockhold as heavy favorite for this Saturday (-800) against Tim Boetsch (+550). The winner will most likely be in line for a title shot in the near future. After his devastating TKO loss to Belfort, Rockhold bounced back with a TKO victory over Costas Philippou.
