Marc-André Barriault gets first UFC win by stopping Oskar Piechota

The world’s largest MMA promotion is back in Las Vegas, Nevada for the fourth-consecutive week tonight, Saturday, June 20.
UFC on ESPN 11 takes place inside the UFC Apex and is headlined by heavyweight contenders Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov. The co-main event features a featherweight clash between Shane Burgos and Josh Emmett.
The preliminary card featured a middleweight bout between Marc-André Barriault and Oskar Piechota. Both men are in desperate needs of getting a win.
Barriault (11-4) debuted in the UFC last year and so far its been a tough go for the Canadian as he’s 0-3 in his UFC career. All three losses came last year in 2019, so Barriault will try and turn things around by making the best of his appearance in 2020.
Piechota (11-3-1) is currently riding a three-fight losing streak. His last win came in Deb. 2018, when he knocked out Tim Williams. Piechota is 2-3 in his UFC career.

Round 1
Barriault comes out swinging and immediately pushes Piechota onto the defense, but Piechota lands a beautiful check uppercut.
Barriault dictating the pace, but neither fighter is really doing any damage to one another.
As we come to the half way point of the round, it seems like Barriault is looking for a finish. He is continuing to dictate the pace and he’s throwing heavy shots and he’s throwing many of them. He’s starting to have a lot of success and is landing shots that are starting to really hurt Piechota.
Easy opening round to score as Barriault is easily takes it.

Round 2
Barriault coming out to start the round looking exactly like he did in the first-round. He seems really comfortable as he continues to press forward.
Two minutes into the round and Barriault mixes it up and shoots in and scores a takedown, but he’s not in a position to really do any damage.
Barriault is trying to work and get himself into a position to start doing some work, but Piechota gets back up to his feet.
Once the two were standing it was all Barriault who just kept press forward and would eventually hurt Piechota with a nice uppercut. Piechota would fall to the canvas and Barriault would start landing heavy shots as the referee jumps in to stop the fight.
