Matt Mitrione and Alexander Flores discuss Metallica at Triad Combat
Matt Mitrione and Alexander Flores will test skills in a hybrid bout as part of Triller Fight Club’s next event.
Triad Combat is set to go down on Saturday, November 27th at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. This middle-ground for boxing and MMA is set to broadcast on FITE TV.
As has been customary with Triller’s events, a live music component will be infused into the fistic fireworks. I decided to get thoughts from both of these heavyweight combatants regarding Metallica at Triad Combat.
I spoke with Mitrione and Flores at the pre-fight virtual media day. The excerpts from those interactions are below.
There's a bit of a binary in the Metallica fandom between Matt Mitrione and Alexander Flores ahead of their fight/ the band's #TriadCombat performance •

Metallica at Triad Combat
Mitrione’s thoughts on Metallica performing on Saturday and the fandom he has for the thrash metal giants
“First of all, I’ve seen Metallica actually in 2003. I saw them in the Summer Sanitarium tour at the Giant Stadium. And it was dope, it was madness. I was in the pit, it was really really nuts. So when I found out Metallica was playing, it was actually one of the drivers for me to say yes. Because I thought it was such a dope show concept. So I mean, everybody’s a One guy, (Enter) Sandman guy, Master of Puppets guy. I’m a big fan overall. But I’m just looking forward to the show, man. We got out there, we scrap a little bit, get to blast Metallica. I mean, how can it go any harder than that?”
Flores’ excitement for the show overall but admitted lack of familiarity with Metallica
“To be honest, I’ve never heard of them play. Maybe I’ve probably heard a popular song but I know they’re big. Just, I’ve never really been a big fan. But I know it’s gonna be an awesome event. I’m definitely looking forward to it.”
