Maverick MMA 4 fights confirmed, DeLouisa vs. Sanchis for 155-pound belt
On the heels of a successful Maverick MMA 3 fight card on September 30, Maverick MMA promoter Willy Sisca has announced several bouts to MyMMANews in regards to his upcoming December 2, Maverick MMA 4 card.
Mike DeLouisa, the organization’s 165-pound amateur champion was supposed to move down to lightweight to battle Stephen Zakarauskas for the Maverick MMA amateur lightweight title.
Unfortunately the fight fell through the day of Maverick MMA 3 and DeLouisa was left without an opponent.
Not to be deterred, DeLouisa showed up to the Sherman Theather and stood toe-to-toe in the middle of the Maverick cage with Avery Sanchis. DeLouisa and Sanchis will fight December 2 for the vacant lightweight title as former champion L.J. Reboli has moved to the professional rankings.
Also, Jayro Martinez will look to earn his second win as a professional as he takes on Quentin Marozzi.
Martinez has been absent from competition since June 2014. Marozzi his making his pro debut.
A second amateur title fight has been announced for the card as Kevin Gocklin will battle Turpal Khamzayev at 135 pounds.
A venue for the Maverick MMA 4 fight card has not yet officially been announced. Gocklin is 3-1 as an amateur, while his opponent currently holds a .500 record at 3-3.
Also, Maverick MMA featherweight champion Scott Heckman was recently on MyMMANews Radio where he said he is willing and able to defend his title on the December 2 card. No announcements have been made yet however in regards to a fight for Heckman on this card.
