Max Griffin and Song Kenen to square off on March 20

Max Griffin and Song Kenen will fight in a welterweight bout at a UFC Fight Night on March 20. MMA Junkie was first to report the news of the upcoming fight.

Griffin (16-8) just fought on Nov. 7 at UFC Vegas 13, where he picked up a TKO win over Ramiz Brahimaj by way of a doctor stoppage. In that fight, Griffin landed a punch in the third round that nearly detached Brahimaj’s ear, forcing the doctor at octagon side to stop the fight.

The win snapped a two-fight losing streak for Griffin. Prior to that victory he dropped fights to Alex “Cowboy” Oliveira and Alex Morono. Since joining the UFC in 2017, Griffin has gone 3-5 with his most notable win coming over Mike Perry.

Kenan (16-5), of China, has won four of his past five fights, posting victories over Callen Potter, Bobby Nash, Hector Aldana and Derrick Krantz. His lone octagon defeat came against Alex Morono in November of 2018. Prior to joining the UFC in 2017, Kenan fought on the Chinese circuit where he posted at 12-4 record and one of his losses came against current UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.

The UFC’s March 20 card does not have an officially location as of this time. The Griffin vs. Kenen fight is currently the only fight booked for the card at this moment.
