Melissa Gatto is underrated prospect out of Toledo, Parana, Brazil with an undefeated record of 6-0-2. The young 22-year-old will look to stay undefeated this Saturday at Imortal FC 10. She will take on Priscilla Ferreira.
First of all, how did you get into MMA? Also, do you have any background in any other type of martial arts?
“I started in MMA to test my limits. I practice Jiu-Jitsu and I always try to work this out in my fights.”
What do you do for work or would MMA be your full-time job?
“I work with martial arts, I teach Jiu-Jitsu for a group of women and also, I am graduated in Letters.”
Who are you currently training with and who are usually your main sparring partners?
“I work at Team Bronx / Spartacus Academy. Today my main training partner is my boyfriend.”
How is the weight cut to 125?
“I can not say that cutting weight is an easy task. But I always try to keep my weight as close to 125 lbs as possible so my body does not feel the physical strain and I can surrender my maximum during the fight.”
What is your favorite thing to eat before weight cut and after?
“Generally, before the fight, I always try to eat what I am accustomed to ingest before the workouts. Already after the fight, I eat what I feel like, but it is worth emphasizing that, I love chocolates.”
What has been the high of your mma career and what has been the low?
“I believe that today I am an exponent fighter with desire to reach the goals. I always try to keep myself that way, with the utmost dedication.”
What would be your favorite striking and grappling technique?
“I always try to work my Jiu-Jitsu and try to finish the fight, without leaving the result to the judges.”
Explain a normal day in the life of Melissa Gatto?
“A normal day in my life is always composed of training, even without a marked fight, I stay active in training.”
What do you like to do outside of fighting?
“Besides fighting, I like to eat and walk with my dogs.”
You’re fighting Priscilla Ferreira. What do you think of her as an opponent and how do you see this fight playing out?
“Priscilla Ferreira is a great fighter. She has a very refined Muay Thai and I believe she will try to beat me by using this. But I’ll be prepared for it, because I’ve trained a lot for this fight.”
Going into 2019 what are your goals for the coming year?
“My goal for next year is to achieve international fights.”
Why do you fight and who do you fight for?
“I fight because I love to fight. And I fight for myself, whenever I think about giving up, I remember I’m doing this out of love.”
Are you signed with any management team?
“I have not yet signed with any management team.”

“I believe it will be a great fight and I will be in the crowd for the Brazilian, Anderson Silva.”
