Mike Lilly on Dilano Taylor: “I know I’m going to get a finish”

(Video interview with Mike Lilly above)

This Friday, September 25th, Lex McMahon and the Titan FC team keeps the ball rolling amidst the worldwide pandemic of Covid-19. Titan FC 64 will serve as the 5th show the promotion will be without fans in attendance with the only option to view the card via UFC Fight Pass.

In the co-main event of the evening, Mike Lilly returns off of his one-punch highlight-reel knockout over Kendly St. Louis at Titan FC 60. Lilly will welcome Dilano Taylor to the Titan cage as Taylor will be debuting for the promotion. Topping a successful outing such as his last performance, Lilly says with a chuckle that the only way to top his last performance will be to “Do it faster!”

With minimal to do in today’s mid-pandemic climate, Lilly was tirelessly training and waiting for his next opportunity to shine in the cage. Especially since he was riding a wave of momentum. Currently on a 4 fight win streak, “I was telling Lex, ‘hey man just get me on the card! I want to fight! It doesn’t matter who it is!’ I just kept bugging him!”

While waiting for a fight date, Lilly was offered the opportunity of a lifetime when he was asked to help Colby “Chaos” Covington train for his recent bout with Tyrone Woodley. “Training with Colby was amazing man”. Lilly says. “Everybody knows his cardio is crazy! He pushed me to places that I’ve never been before. Not only training with him, just watching him fight over the weekend! The way he beat Woodley…it pushed my confidence a lot because it showed me that I know I belong in the UFC! and I can compete with the top 10 guys.”

Although Lilly, admittedly doesn’t know much about his opponent, he’s comfortable with his skill to lead him to victory. “It doesn’t bother me that I don’t know that much about them because I’ve been fighting for a while”, Lilly says. “Whatever he has to throw at me, I’ll be prepared for whatever! Finishing boldly with “I’m pretty sure there’s nothing I haven’t seen before!”

When all is said and done, “I know I’m going to get a finish”, Lilly says. “I just don’t know how I’m going to do it, yet” He emphasizes. However, in his mind, one thing is for certain. “If I’m not in the UFC after this fight, I think Lex and Titan have no other choice but to give me a title fight.”
