Dillon Danis: I'm gonna strangle Jake Shields in record time

Bellator’s Dillon Danis wants a shot a UFC’s Khamzat Chimaev

It’s no surprise that the dominant performances early on by the UFC’s Khamzat Chimaev has garnered the attention of the MMA world. And it may also come as no surprise that Bellator’s Dillon Danis has chimed in via social media with his pitch to fight the rising prospect.

While Danis holds a young MMA record of 2-0, with BJJ skills that are world class, most of his notariaty comes from being the training partner and coach of ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor. Danis who has fought twice in two years for Bellator is now taking aim via Twitter at Chimaev who has fought in and won three fights in 66 days for the UFC.

“Let me smash Khamzat he’s so bad” Danis tweeted.

While Dillon Danis wasn’t shy of calling out the likes of Jake Paul, Logan Paul, and recently Ryan Garcia, his request to tangle with the likes of Chimaev may be one he needs to rethink.

Chimaev, who just set a UFC record with 3 victories in 66 days, has outlanded his last three opponents 196-2 in significant strikes. Chimaev’s last performance was a 17 second KO win over veteran Gerald Meerschaert at UFC Vegas 11.

While the Danis request is pretty far-fetched, it won’t stop the fans of the sport from wondering what could happen if the two actually met.

Chimaev will look to continue the dominant start to his UFC career sooner rather than later against potential opponent Demian Maia. As of now, no date has been set for the potential bout. After UFC Vegas 11, UFC President Dana White hinted at the possibility of Chimaev fighting again before the Maia showdown.
