Mohammed Usman, “focused and locked in,” ahead of Titan FC 57

Mohammed Usman (4-1) now has an opponent in his sights when he sets down in the Dominican Republic next month with Titan Fighting Championships.

Usman, the younger brother of UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, will take on Alexis Garcia (5-1) at at Pabellón de Esgrima in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

“The Motor” Usman, was supposed to fight at Titan FC 56 on August 23 but the fight failed to come to fruition.

Usman, a man of few words, tells MyMMANews ahead of the fight, “I’m focused and locked in.”

The 30-year old Nigerian returns to Titan FC after taking Frank Tate to a decision in March.  Prior to that victory, Usman suffered his only loss when he was outpointed by Dontale Mayas in 2018.  He racked up two kimura submission victories and a TKO to start his professional mixed martial arts career in 2017.

Titan FC 57 is headlined by a welterweight title unification bout between current Titan FC 170-pound champion Uroš Jurišic (10-) and interim champion Michael Graves (8-1-2). The undefeated Jurišic claimed the title back at Titan FC 50 when he submitted then champion Jose Caceres just 94 seconds into the contest. Graves has been red hot since coming to the Titan FC promotion, earning a hard-fought decision win over Gregg Ellis in Kazakhstan at Titan FC 51, and then claiming the interim title with a victory over Jared Gooden in March.

Also on the card, Titan FC lightweight champion Martin Brown will return to the cage after recently losing his Titan FC 56 main event spot due to opponent Beibit Nazarov sustaining visa issues that would keep him from entering the country.

Titan FC COO Lex McMahon announced the Titan FC 57 event during the Titan FC 56 broadcast on UFC Fight Pass, citing a three-year partnership with the Dominican Republic based mixed martial arts promotion, Fighting Force.

Two Fighting Force bantamweight World Grand Prix semi-final bouts have also been billed to take place at Titan FC 57. Tommy Garcia will lock horns with Juan Reyes, while Elias Faustin looks to tackle Alberto Blas.

The October 19 event will be broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass.
