Movsar Evloev suffers injury, forced out of UFC Vegas 64 main event against Bryce Mitchell

Movsar Evloev has been forced out of his UFC Vegas 64 main event fight.

Evloev was set to headline UFC Vegas 64 against Bryce Mitchell on November 5 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. It was a critical fight for the featherweight division as the two undefeated featherweights were set to collide. Yet, recently, reports came out that Evloev was injured, and late Thursday night, ESPN Deportes reported that the Russian was injured and the fight was off.

Currently, it’s uncertain if the promotion will keep Mitchell on the card but Sodiq Yusuff and Ilia Topuria have both thrown their names in the hat to replace Evloev.

Movsar Evloev (16-0) is coming off a decision win over Dan Ige back in June and before that, he scored a decision win over Hakeem Dawodu at UFC 263. The former M-1 Global bantamweight champion is 6-0 inside the UFC and he’s currently ranked 10th at featherweight. Inside the Octagon, he also has beaten Nik Lentz, Mike Grundy, Enrique Barzola, and Seung Woo Choi.

Bryce Mitchell (15-0) is ranked ninth at featherweight and picked up the biggest win of his career last time out as he scored a decision win over Edson Barboza back in March at UFC 272. Mitchell earned his way into the UFC through TUF – even though he lost in the semi-finals – but is 6-0 inside the Octagon. The Arkansas native also holds notable wins over Andre Fili, Charles Rosa, Matt Sayles, Bobby Moffett, and Tyler Diamond.

With Evloev vs. Mitchell off, UFC Vegas 64 is now as follows:
