Neil Magny, UFC 248

Neil Magny vs Anthony Rocco Martin pegged for UFC 250

A welterweight clash is on tap for UFC 250 on June 6.

Neil Magny and Anthony Rocco Martin are the latest addition to the pay-per-view card. MMA Junkie confirmed the bout with sources close to the situation.

The event is still without an official location, although the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada is a possibility. According to UFC president Dana White, the promotions next event is at the Apex on May 30.

Magny will enter the octagon with 15 victories under the UFC banner. Georges St-Pierre [19] and Matt Brown [16] are the only other welterweights in UFC history to earn more wins.

Magny most recently defeated Jingliang Li by unanimous decision at UFC 248 on March 7. The victory marked Magny’s first return since being sidelined by an USADA suspension. The 32-year-old eventually proved his innocence and the suspension was dropped.

Before the 16-month layoff, Magny lost by a first-round knockout to Santiago Ponzinibbio at UFC Fight Night 140 in November 2018.

Martin is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Ramazan Emeev at UFC on ESPN+ 21 in November 2019. It is his fifth victory in his last six fights at welterweight. His only defeat in that stretch came by a majority decision loss against Demian Maia at UFC on ESPN 3 in June 2019.

Martin drew David Zawada for the UFC’s April 25 event, but the card was canceled due to the CVID-19 pandemic.

Headlining UFC 250 is women’s featherweight champion Amanda Nunes and challenger Felicia Spencer. The prelims for UFC 250 will be available on ESPN and ESPN+/UFC Fight Pass.
