The ONE Circle will be the platform for the next permutation of this tournament later in the Fall. These semi-final contests transpire on October 29th at ONE: Next Gen.
The first of these fights will be between Itsuki Hirata and Ritu Phogat. This one promises to be a compelling one for fans of the grappling arts as the exciting judoka in Hirata looks to test skills with the decorated wrestler in Phogat.
The second semi-final bout pits former multi-sport ONE titleholder Stamp Fairtex against someone many see as the best Atomweight on the planet, Seo Hee Ham. Based on the stylistic proclivities of both, it’s an easy inference to make that Ham will engage in fistic fireworks with someone who has held kickboxing and Muay Thai belts in ONE like Stamp.
ONE Atomweight Grand Prix semi-finals
The quarterfinals took place at ONE: Empower and the Grand Prix kicked off with a bang.
Ritu Phogat came back from early adversities against Meng Bo to earn a hard-fought victory.
Itsuki Hirata punched her ticket to the semi-finals by besting ONE debutant/ Invicta FC veteran Alyse Anderson.
Seo Hee Ham earned a decision victory over Denice Zamboanga. Which was briefly reviewed before the ONE Championship council opted to uphold the initial bout decision.
Stamp Fairtex scored a redemptive win over Alyona Rassohyna. Going the distance to avenge the lone loss of her mixed martial arts career so far.
ONE Championship outlines a clear path for the tournament winner. The Grand Prix champion faces returning ONE atomweight titleholder, Angela Lee.
