ONE: Fists of Fury II Results (Amir Aliakbari stopped in the first round)

ONE Championship returned today with quite the explosive card. It showcased five mixed martial arts fights, one Muay Thai bout, and electrifying finishes abounded. Here are your ONE: Fists of Fury II Results.

In the main event, unbeaten heavyweight Kang Ji Won maintained his spotless record with an upset victory in a first-round demolition of highly regarded promotional debutant Amir Aliakbari. Aliakbari came out heavy from the opening bell and looked to pressure his opponent to the Circle Wall right away. Kang looked to be rocked by a series of punches. But as Aliakbari charged forward for the finish, he himself was finished in the effort. A short left hook to the jaw spelled the end for the ACA/ Rizin vet.

In the co-feature, another unbeaten heavyweight came out on top. Anatoly Malykhin utilized smothering ground and pound to halt Alexandre Machado. Malykhin closed in on Machado and took him down fairly early on.Β  Malykhin secured the mounted crucifix position and began unloading heavy strikes before the referee intervened in the first frame.

A pair of first-round featherweight knockouts

Featherweight phenom Tang Kai turned the lights out on former Shooto Pan Pacific Champion Ryogo Takahashi in another first-round finish. After an early feeling out process, Tang turned up the pressure and connected on a left hook that dropped Takahashi. Tang then unleashed a heavy torrent of punches to secure the victory.

Yoshiki Nakahara notched a quick knockout in his own right and put the first blemish on Ruslan Emilbek Uulu’s record. An emphatic right hook to the jaw caused the ending in the first round. Uulu looked to maintain distance and work at range. But Nakahara successfully worked to a close-quarters interaction and sent his opponent crashing to the mat as a consequence.

Han Zi Hao stymied a game effort from Adam Noi in a ONE Super Series Muay Thai prizefight. Han pushed a strong rhythm early while Noi showcased a sophisticated counter striking game. In the end, all three judges saw Han as the victor.

Brick-fisted bantamweight Mark Fairtex Abelardo scored a highlight reel win over Emilio Urrutia in the opening bout. Abelardo kept Urrutia on the back foot in the first round with a myriad of punches and elbows. Abelardo landed a downward elbow strike in the second stanza that separated Urrutia from his senses. The well-timed strike generated a video clip that became heavily circulated on social media thereafter.
