ONE Full Blast II results (Mongkolpetch Petchyindee Academy wins)

ONE Championship returned Friday with a tape-delayed event from the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Here are your ONE Full Blast II results.

The show featured a pair of compelling mixed martial arts contests as well as a pair of ONE Super Series bouts under Muay Thai and kickboxing rules.

In the main event, former Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion Mongkolpetch Petchyindee Academy put together a stunning performance. He outstruck the number 4-ranked flyweight Muay Thai contender Elias Mahmoudi to garner a majority decision victory.

Mongkolpetch showed aggressiveness in the first round as he dug in with roundhouse kicks and elbows. Mahmoudi also had his moments in what was a mostly even opening frame for both combatants. In the second stanza, Mongkolpetch kept laying in leg kicks to slow Mahmoudi’s movement. Midway through the frame, he dropped Mahmoudi with a razor-sharp combo. One that was punctuated by a beautiful straight right to the chin.

Mahmoudi looked to rally a comeback in the last round. But Mongkolpetch matched his intensity and maintained his lead. After three rounds, the Petchyindee Academy got the nod on two of three scorecards. He took home the pivotal decision victory. Plus, makes a case for future placement in the official flyweight Muay Thai rankings.

Amarsanaa Tsogookhuu shines in the co-feature

In the co-feature, lightweight Amarsanaa Tsogookhuu gave previously unbeaten Ben Wilhelm his first loss. Wilhelm’s first blemish in his professional mixed martial arts career came as a result of a masterful striking performance from Tsogookhuu.

The first frame saw Wilhelm charge at Tsogookhuu to close the space. As a result, he was lit up with a myriad of significant strikes. In the second stanza, Tsogookhuu continued laying it on and staggered Wilhelm on several occasions with stiff punches. In the final round, Tsogookhuu kept his distance and struck at range to the frustration of Wilhelm.

All three judges saw the bout in favor of Tsogookhuuwho won by unanimous decision. Earlier, Yoon Chang Min got it done against the well regarded Ma Jia Wen. He wins by rear-naked choke submission in the first frame of the featherweight MMA bout.

And in a ONE Super Series kickboxing contest, Taiki Naito secured an upset over the number four-ranked flyweight kickboxing contender Wang Wenfeng. He won this outing by unanimous decision after a blistering three rounds of action.
