Jamal Johnson

Opposites attract as Jamal Johnson meets Timmy Tyler at AOW 7

Jamal Johnson (0-2) has a laid back, calm and reserved demeanor outside of the cage.  His opponent at Art of War 7, Timmy “Vicious” Tyler (0-2), is the lightning rod, and has the flashy smile.  Really polar opposites when they are just hanging out, but similar in the cage.

“Timmy is a grinder.  That’s why I like him.  I’m the same way.  Both of us will do whatever it is we have to in order to win this fight. I’m that grinder as well. ” Johnson tells me when I spoke to him.  Check out his full interview below.

Art of War President/Matchmaker Mike Bickings has put together a fight card with lots of interesting, talented prospects along with a couple of heavy handed teammates Sam ” Sammy O ” Oropeza and Joe ” Bodybagz” Pyfer.  Sammy O will face Nick Wagner in the main event.  Pyfer is making his professional debut. He’s been tearing it up and finishing fights at the amateur level and is one of the brightest, young, 185 lb fighters in the region and maybe beyond.  He takes on Steve Covington, who despite being 0-2, has gone the distance twice and was in both contests.  He is not an easy fight.

MyMMANews will be on hand at the 2300 Arena, Friday night, May 18th with commentary, up to the minute results, and photos.
