Patrick Brady – Goals: First pro title, adding quality win at AOW 28

Video interview with Pat Brady above

Art of War Cage Fighting opens their 2023 schedule on Friday night, February 3rd.  AOW 28 goes down at the Sheet Metal Workers Union Hall on the waterfront in South Philadelphia.  The night will conclude as the former AOW Amateur heavyweight champ, Patrick “the Brick” Brady, goes hunting for his first professional title.

Main Event

Brady will put his 4-0 record on the line against Tra’Von Butler, who goes by the name Yimaz Wildman.  Wildman is coming off of a 2nd round finish and has a 5-2 record.  He is 27 years old and fighting out of Missouri.  Yimaz will definitely enter the cage to a cascade of boos as Brady will once again have a huge support system in the building.

Breakfast with Brady

When I texted Brady for the idea to do his interview with breakfast, he quickly accepted.  Heavyweights you can do this with.  No weight cut = happy fighter ;).  I made the trek to casa De Brady and did my best to butter up his wife and dogs. That’s a must if you want another invite for some grub.  The pork roll, egg and cheese bagel hit the spot.  Anyway, back to MMA and the interview.  I asked Pat about his willingness to train with other fighters from different camps and he says…

“I just had the opportunity to roll with Sean Strickland and Francis Ngannou.  Andre Petroski, Joe Pyfer are great friends, but I am Martinez BJJ.  Will Martinez has what I need to win fights.  Chris, Kyle (Daukaus bros) have been unbelievable.  I love to train with people who are better than me and soak as much up and get better myself.  This guy is very tough.  I watched his fights. Even in his 2 losses he was winning.  This is a good opponent and I’m looking at one fight at a time and this would be a quality win on my record.”

Interview on the link above

Brady has to balance fatherhood to 3 young boys, being a husband, being a business owner, and his fighting career which includes expectations and many folks asking him about reaching the UFC.  In a couple of weeks Pat turns 39 years old.  This is a huge year for him, and he is going full throttle while he tackles one opponent at a time.  A ferocious start to 2023 could lead to that phone call he works so hard for.

I will be cageside on commentary with “the Big Homie” Justin Haskell and “Korean Thunder” Ryan Kim Cafaro.  We will have the boss in the house with live results, and William McKee taking the best shots from behind the lens.  The co-main event is also a monster bout as the AOW middleweight belt will be up for grabs between Earl “Trouble” Small and Gregg Ellis.

Art of War Cage Fighting 28 will be live streamed on PPV on Starfund App if you can’t make it to the show.  Stay right here for live results as we continue to cover regional combat sports like no one else.
