Evan Elder

Evan Elder seeking first UFC win at UFC Vegas 69

Evan Elder had to learn on the fly for his UFC appearance.

He took his debut on short notice and only had days to prepare for his opponent in a weight class he normally doesn’t fight in.

Not only did he have to adjust a quick gameplan, but he also had his first full fight week, and it can be a lot for fighters that aren’t used to a UFC fight week as there are media rounds, photo shoots, trying on your fight gear, weigh in ceremonies and so much more than what usually takes place on the regional scene.

The fight would end up not going Elder’s way and the 25-year-old took the loss like a true professional and used it as the biggest learning experience of his life.

After the loss, Elder returned to the gym at Kill Cliff FC in Florida and continued to work hard and grow as an athlete.

Now he’s ready to make his second walk to the octagon at UFC Vegas 69 on Feb. 18 and he feels confident that this time he’ll be getting his hand raised.

Standing across the octagon from Elder will be Nazim Sadykhov, who earned a UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series.

Elder is benefiting from actually having a full training camp for his opponent and he believes that he has the right game plan in place to go get the win.

Prior to the fight, Elder spoke with MyMMANews to discuss his upcoming UFC Vegas 69 matchup with Sadykhov, the benefits of having a full training for a UFC fight and training at Kill Cliff FC for four years.

You can watch his full interview in the video above.
