Patricky Pitbull defends Bellator lightweight title against Usman Nurmagomedov

Patricky Pitbull is set to defend the Bellator lightweight title against Usman Nurmagomedov at an upcoming event taking place in November.

MMA Fight Universe was the first to break the news that Pitbull vs. Nurmagomedov will take place on November 18 at a Bellator card. The event does not have the location or venue confirmed as of yet.

Pitbull (24-10) won the Bellator lightweight title in his last belt when he stopped Peter Queally. Pitbull has been on the Bellator roster since 2011 and he has been one of the best fighters in the promotion over the years. He has defeated opponents such as Josh Thomson, Benson Henderson, and Roger Huerta over the years. It all culminated in him winning the Bellator lightweight title against Queally last year.

Nurmagomedov (15-0) is an unbeaten prospect who is the cousin of former UFC lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov. The younger Nurmagomedov is undefeated just like his famous cousin, as he holds a 15-0 record in MMA, including a 4-0 Bellator record. He has been finishing everyone in his path in the last few fights, and he looks like someone who could definitely be a champion for Bellator.

It will be interesting to see what the betting odds will be for this fight when they are released. Although Pitbull is the champion, Nurmagomedov is unbeaten and is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon, so he will likely be the favorite to win this fight despite being the challenger. For Bellator, it ultimately came down to giving the title shot to either Nurmagomedov or Tofiq Musayev (who has a prior win over Pitbull), and ultimately the promotion chose the former when they picked the title fight. When it happens, Pitbull vs. Nurmagomedov should be a really good fight.

Who do you think wins between Patricky Pitbull and Usman Nurmagomedov?
