PFL World Championships 2022: MMA’s biggest pay-day
PFL World Championships 2022 goes down this weekend at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden live exclusively on ESPN+ PPV.
MMA’s biggest pay-day, one million, will be up for grabs across six championship fights. This will be PFL’s first PPV event on a historic night for the promotion and arguably the biggest show they have put on in their tenure thus far.
How much does it cost?
The PPV section of the card is available for the price of $49.99.
Fans in the US can tune into the preliminary card on ESPN+ beginning at 5:30pm ET. The pay-per-view will begin at 8:00pm ET on ESPN+ PPV.
UK fans can view the event on Channel 4.
Here are some of my most anticipated championship fights.
Kayla Harrison vs. Larissa Pacheco:
Harrison (15-0), the face of the PFL in recent years, will headline against one of her rivals in the promotion Pacheco. Although, Harrison is 2-0 vs the Brazilian, Pacheco is heading into the bout on the back of her best run inside the promotion, winning her last five all by finish in the first round.
It is an uphill battle for Pacheco, ultimately a big underdog according to sports bookies, and you can’t help but feel it is justified. Kayla Harrison should be on full display in this bout and earn herself another one million dollars and a defence of her championship. But never count out the underdog.
Brendan Loughnane vs. Bubba Jenkins
Manchester born will travel to America to seek his biggest opportunity yet. Across the cage from him, Jenkins a powerful natural born wrestler from Arizona State University, will seek to use his tools, he has learned since he was a cub.
This has all the makings of being the fight of the night. A battle of the old phrase often used in MMA, a striker vs wrestler match-up. Both men have fought their way to the finale and ultimately will leave it all in the cage. Feast your eyes on this one MMA fans.
Stevie Ray vs. Olivier Aubin-Mercier
Another fantastic showcase on the PPV card. Two veterans will look at the horns. Ray will seek to bring the one million dollars back to his homeland of Scotland. Meanwhile, Aubin-Mercier is eager to put his name up alongside Canadians greatest MMA fighters with a win on Friday.
Ray heading into this bout of back-to-back wins versus MMA hall of famer Anthony Pettis. His adversary Aubin-Mercier is perfect thus far in his PFL tenure with a record of 5-0. An interesting clash of styles, only one can leave with the championship.
