Phumi Nkuta: CFFC title defense, AEW, and a future pro wrestling career?
Video interview with Phumi Nkuta above
It’s “Turbo” time! Phuki “Turbo” Nkuta has done it again! Keeping his undefeated streak unscathed, the CFFC flyweight king secured his second title defense at CFFC 104, several weeks ago.
Since Nkuta’s run within CFFC, he has flawlessly risen to the occasion in each of his bouts under the promotion. Earning a title shot after only 2 professional bouts, Nkuta dismantled then champion, Alberto Trujillo en route to the start of the flashy flyweights illustrious title run.
Nkuta, a member of Team Serra/Longo is 5-0 in his young and prosperous professional run, thus far. Adaptable in the cage, and fluent on the mic, Nkuta took out Jason Eastman in his latest outing via unanimous decision. Nkuta’s performance was dominant but he’s overly critical of all of his fights.
Nkuta kept Eastman on his toes for the duration of the bout, setting up precise level changes with his strikes. “Turbo” would then utilize his grappling prowess to keep Eastman on the floor where Nkuta would set up further strikes.
It was a clean sweep for Nkuta who remains ready at an undefeated 5-0 for the call to the big show (UFC). The flyweight champ honed his marketing skills by cutting an unforgettable promo in his post fight interview and continuing the party by storming the commentating booth to check in for “duty” following his bout to say a few words with CFFC’s broadcasting team, CM Punk and MMAJunkie’s, John Morgan.
Tune in above as the CFFC flyweight champ, Phumi “Turbo” Nkuta joins me via MyMMANews in this exclusive post-fight interview to discuss his most recent win over Jason Eastman.
