Polyana Viana: Finding Her Footing at UFC Vegas 78

The start of Polyana Viana’s UFC career was incredibly rough. Starting out with three straight losses to JJ Aldrich, Hannah Cifers, and Veronica Hardy, things looked grim for Viana.

But she managed to turn things around and snagged two straight arm bar finishes in the first round against Emily Whitmire and Mallory Martin proving that she belonged in the UFC. After a hiccup of a tough fight to Tabitha Ricci, Viana got back to her winning ways against Jinh Yu Frey with a devastating first round knockout in only 47 seconds.

Going into UFC Vegas 78, Viana looks to snag a second straight win and begin to make her claim at a fight for a ranked spot.

Iasmin Lucinda: New Blood, New Shots

Iasmin Lucinda has a big opportunity at UFC Vegas 78. At 14-5, eight of Lucinda’s wins have come by knockout and two by submission. She is a certified finisher. She had some ups and downs earlier in the regional scene. But after winning seven straight fights earned her the call to the big show.

Iasmin Lucinda’s debut didn’t go as planned. Yazmin Jauregui managed to get a win over Lucinda and snapped her seven fight win streak. To Lucinda’s credit, she did step in on short notice to take the fight.

Eight months later, Lucinda returned and beat Brogan Walker for her first UFC victory. Now she looks to beat a seasoned opponent and let everyone know that she is a major player in the UFC’s flyweight division.
