“You’re damn right I’m rocking Clarence Bubba. It’s his third birthday today. I couldn’t be with him so I figured I’d bring him with me all day. You know what I mean? I’m trying to FaceTime him as much as possible. But yeah, this is my son Clarence Bubba. Clarence Big Boy Bubba. Can’t mess that up.”
Yeah, I love seeing that. I was kind of wondering how much motivation that’s given you leading into the fight? Because that made me smile when I saw you pop up on video here.
“Yeah, definitely. I mean I’m really happy with my role as a father and I’ve tried not to fight around his birthday or to miss one of the milestones in his life. So it does give me a little extra fire. Like, you know, ‘you’re making me miss my son’s birthday’. But I’ll handle that here in a couple of days.”

You’re talking about how this could have certain title shot stakes.
Is that something you’re going off of just based on the rankings and everything or has Bellator communicated to you expressly that this is a title eliminator bout?
“Going off of it with the rankings and then I hear he’s talking about the same thing. Yeah, I do it right and I don’t think they’re gonna be able to deny me the shot.”
