Meet Maverick MMA’s new ringcard girl, Dakota Ferrone
Maverick MMA will return to the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Saturday, September 30, when the organization delivers Maverick MMA 3 to the fans.
Fight promoter Willy Sisca is headlining the fight card with an epic rematch between featherweight champion Scott “The Animal” Heckman and challenger, Rob Sullivan. Sisca is also enlisting the help of a new ringcard girl to help entertain the fans as they enjoy the area’s newest mixed martial arts promotion.
Dakota Ferrone will strut her stuff for the first time as a ringcard girl, but if her photoshoot with MyMMANews photographer William McKee is any indication, she is more than ready to make the catwalk her bitch. Aside from working towards a career in health and fitness she is also training to compete in an MMA fight of her own.
Ferrone’s boyfriend Eric Roncoroni fights for the Ring of Combat middleweight title this Friday in Atlantic City. MyMMANews will have all the results.
Thanks to A.J. Hiller of MMA Signatures Asylum MMA & BJJ Academy in Stroudsburg for providing the gym space for the shoot.
Get to know Dakota Ferrone before Maverick MMA 3:
Age: 25
Favorite fighter (besides her boyfriend, Eric Roncoroni): “I would say Claudia (Gadelha). She’s the first UFC fighter I ever met besides Chris Weidman. Claudia showed compassion and was very kind. She even opened me up to the sport when I was a little shy. She gave me the push I needed. And now that she is one of my friends, we keep in touch.”
Why did you want to become a ringcard girl: “I wanted to be a ring card girl to get noticed and help with me along my career path of personal training fitness and health.
Occupation: “Currently I am the manager of a bar and head bartender at Kennedy’s Pub in Budd Lake, N.J.”
How long have you been training MMA? “I’ve been training mma over a year now, on and off due to a lot of different things getting in the way. In about two weeks or so I’ll be working with Don Cioffi and figuring out what gyms I’m going to roll at, though I believe Carnicellas and Pure MMA will be in my future.”
