Road to M-1: USA 2 – “Battle in the Desert” results – Cochrane vs. Warfield
Tonight, Road to M-1: USA 2 takes place at Quechan Casino Resort in Winterhaven, California. The event is headlined by a welterweight bout by a pair of extremely seasoned veterans in Dakota Cochrane (32-13) and James Warfield (23-12). The card will be broadcast via UFC Fight Pass.
There are three fighters on the card that have an astonishing 560 fights combined. Travis Fulton enters tonight’s card with more pro fights than anyone on record today coming in at 256-54-10. He is followed by Travis Wiuff 75-22 and then Shannon Ritch 57-86.
Another item of note before the card begins is that UFC flyweight star Paige VanZant will make her commentary debut tonight for M-1. She will work all U.S. based shows.
The opening bout, a blood bath, resulted in a stoppage due to a cut as Enzo Perez defeated Nick Alwag. The next fight, a beautiful rear-naked choke brings an end to the contest between Ronee Dizon and Joe Gustina.
Celine Hage earned a hard-fought unanimous decision win over Jennifer Clausius at 115-pounds That contest was followed by two of the sport’s most season veterans in Ritch and Fulton. Ritch sustained a small cut on the forehead in round one, but was able to continue on before being submitted for a forearm choke in round two.
