Ronda Rousey names Fedor Emelianenko as MMA “GOAT”
Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion and WWE superstar Ronda Rousey has named former PRIDE heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko as mixed martial arts’ greatest of all time (GOAT).
While speaking to talkSPORT’s MMA channel, the top female MMA fighter on the planet, listed her reasoning for giving Fedor the GOAT status.
“I think Fedor, dude, his time had it all.
“He had a relationship with judo, too and I am a big nerd for judo and Sambo is basically Russian judo.
“I’ve got to say too, him vs [Mirko Cro Cop] is my favorite MMA match of all-time.”
Fedor, 47, never did compete in the UFC but racked up an impressive 40-7 professional MMA career between 2000 and 2023.
“The Last Emperor” fought for the likes of PRIDE, Strikeforce, Bellator, Affliction, and other promotions during his 23-year-career that saw him compete against some of the biggest names in the industry.
