At the start of round one, Leon came leaping towards Richardson as if he was a frog. Chael Sonnon enjoyed several laughs at Leon’s expense. His leapfrog attack method might only have worked in the video game, Frogger, since Richardson clearly wasn’t phased by the unorthodox approach of his foe.

The East Coast United BJJ fighter sprawled and tossed Leon to the side as the two scrambled. Richardson came out in the top position where he dominated Leon throughout the first round.

The Bronx native thrust numerous elbows and punches down on the face of the Kai Next Level fighter. Leon managed to stand up briefly until Ross “The Boss” continued his dominance him with a takedown via outside trip. The round ended with Richardson delivering heavy shots.

In the second round, the two fighters exchanged several strikes before Richardson scored a takedown. While on top, the ECU fighter quickly transitioned into full-mount, where he trapped Leon’s arm and rained down heavy punches and elbows, forcing referee Dan Miragliotta to end the fight in the second round.

Ross Richardson defeated Ron Leon via TKO in Round 2, at 1:41.

Richardson starts his professional career in impressive fashion improving to 1-0. Ron Leon falls to 0-1. After a solid performance by the now 1-0 lightweight and excellent ticket seller, expect to see the ECU fighter return to the Bellator MMA cage.
