Roy Echeverria expects a finish against Wascar Cruz at Titan FC 73
Titan Fighting Championship has announced the bout card for Titan FC 73 which takes place at the InterContinental Hotel in Miami, Florida this Friday, December 17th. The event’s main card is scheduled to be broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass. The card currently hosts 11 pro MMA bouts and will be headlined by two Titan FC championship fights.
In this interview, Lenny from MyMMANews he sits down with pivotal flyweight contender Roybert (Roy) Echeverria as he is set to take on his hardest test to date former Titan FC flyweight champion Wascar Cruz.
Roy Echeverria (6-0) mentioned that he is expecting a finish early in the contest:
“I feel like this fight is going to end early, i will say first round – at the very least the second round. I don’t think we will go to the scorecards, but I’m ready for any situation.”
“Hes been fighting the same since when he started fighting, so Im not expected anything too new from his fighting style. Im not worried of what hes going to bring to the table, he should be worried of what i bring.” Echeverria explained when asked what type of fight he expects this Friday.
His opponent Wascar Cruz (12-8), is undoubtedly the hardest match-up Echeverria will face
“If we look at the numbers, he will be one of the hardest test i will have. But ive been training for this since the amateurs, so i don’t feel any type of pressure, I’m not worried about him – just another fight for me.”
This is a pivotal fight in the Titan FC flyweight division, a win for either man could see a title shot at champion Victor Dias in the near future.
“There is no other guy that i feel deserves the title shot more than me. He’s (Cruz) a former champ and is coming of a loss, he lost the title to the champ (Dias) but to be honest i just want to get this fight out the way and keep this year clean then we see what’s next for me in 2022. There is some big opportunities for me coming up next year, let’s see where the numbers are, i don’t know if I’ll fight for the title or not.”
