Rich Franklin, Vice President of ONE Championship, quipped: “One of our most important goals at ONE Championship has been to give athletes the biggest global platform to showcase their skills. We’re more than excited for this tournament to commence, and to discover the world’s next heavyweight superstar.”

Dr. Joel Lopez, President of RUF Nation, exclaimed: “I’m ecstatic for the opportunity ONE Championship has given us at RUF Nation to partner on a ‘Road To ONE’ tournament. RUF is poised with the ideal stage for recruitment, and the response from applicants has been overwhelming so far. I believe this tournament will produce some of the best-undiscovered talent in the U.S. to add to ONE’s roster.”

RUF Nation’s “Road To ONE” tournament will look to feature some of the preeminent rising heavyweight talents from throughout the United States. ONE’s heavyweight class, presently helmed over by champion Brandon Vera, is a division that has been making measurable growth on all levels over the last few months.

Specifics on the participants remain unknown as of this writing. Bout confirmations and announcements are still to come.

Also, RUF Nation will hold additional Road To ONE tournaments in varying weight categories later this year. Each of the subsequent tournament champions will receive that $100,000 US contract to ply their trade in the ONE Championship Circle.
