Former Strikeforce champ Sarah Kaufman released from UFC

Former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion Sarah Kaufman (17-4) has been released from the UFC.

Kaufman began her UFC career in October 2013 when she lost a split decision to Jessica Eye which was eventually overturned to a NC when Eye tested positive for marijuana.  Kaufman then defeated Leslie Smith for a second time (first time in UFC) via unanimous decision.

Following that win Kaufman would drop consecutive fights to Alexis Davis and Valentina Shevchenko.

Where Kaufman ends up remains to be seen but the two likely candidates are back in Invicta FC or Bellator MMA.
