Seo Hee Ham out of ONE Atomweight Grand Prix via injury

“Seo Hee Ham out of ONE Atomweight Grand Prix” is making the rounds on social media.

ONE Championship addressed the tournament shift on the promotional Twitter account.

Seo Hee Ham was injured during a recent training session. The assessment was that she would not be ready to compete in a few weeks’ time.

Julie Mezabarba will take to the ONE Circle in the place of Ham. Mezabarba and Stamp Fairtex will now test skills in this second stage of the tournament.

Mezabarba won a Grand Prix alternate bout against Mei Yamaguchi at ONE: Empower. The comprehensive bell to bell performance over a former multi-time title challenger in ONE got Julie Mezabarba on the radars of many.

Seo Hee Ham advanced to the semi-final initially with a polarizing split decision win over Denice Zamboanga.

Zamboanga was booked in a Grand Prix alternate bout against the aforementioned Mezabarba. This after Julie Mezabarba had already won the alternate bout against Mei Yamaguchi.

ONE Championship continues the next pugilistic permutation of their Atomweight Grand Prix later in the Fall.

ONE: Next Gen transpires on October 29th. Arguably the biggest tournament in women’s mixed martial arts history continues to see its story unfurl.

Fairtex embarks on a path towards not only the atomweight grand prix belt. But also a crack at the lineal atomweight title Angela Lee holds. The former ONE Kickboxing and Muay Thai world champion aims for a third belt in a different combat discipline as Stamp keeps honing her MMA skills.

Conversely, Mezabarba looks to extend her winning streak to seven. To collect another name-value victory that will also punch her ticket to the ONE Championship tournament finals.

The winner of Mezabarba and Fairtex will take on the winner of the other semi-final bout which pits Ritu Phogat against Itsuki Hirata.
