SFLC Kickboxing Podcast: Irv Althouse and Jen Heffentrager of USKA Fights

This week on the SFLC Podcast, Ryan Sprague is joined by Jen Heffentrager and Irv Althouse of USKA Fights to further discuss the world of Kickboxing and Muay Thai and to review their upcoming card in Allentown, PA on October 21st.

Althouse talks about how he got the promotion started more than 17 years ago and some of the challenges and struggles that have come with getting the martial art that he cares so passionately about, approved by state athletic commissions for sanctioning. He is a seventh-degree black belt and has broken 72 20-pound concrete blocks with one strike. To say he has a wealth of experience is an understatement.

Heffentrager talks about the willingness of fighters and coaches to work with various rule systems, while allowing for perfecting matchmaking that lead to quality fights.

LISTEN BELOW AS IRV ALTHOUSE & JEN HEFFENTRAGER TALK USKA FIGHTS:

Rami Ibrahim, the longest active Muay Thai fighter in North American history, will compete in his 186th professional Muay Thai fight when he takes on Nelson Moreira under the USKA Fights banner, Oct. 21 from the Econo Lodge in Allentown, PA.

Ryan Sprague will continue to branch out from the traditional SFLC Podcast interviews as he brings more exciting kickboxing personalities to the brand new extension, SFLC Kickboxing.
