Tahar Hadbi sustained serious arm injury during Brave 12

Tahar Hadbi walked into the Brave cage for the fourth time in his career determined to beat Jarrah Al-Selawe and guarantee a title shot at Welterweight. And even though he lost a tough decision to “The Jordanian Lion” on the co-main event of Brave 12: KHK Legacy, fans, and media have hailed his bravery for staying in the fight. That’s because “Fast Hands” broke his forearm in the first round and kept going for the Knockout during the entire meeting with Al-Selawe.

After the bout, Hadbi shared an X-Ray image of his forearm on social media and fans made it known that his bravery was appreciated.  What was shown was a serious arm injury.

“One day we win, one day we lose. That’s the tough law of sport! I broke my forearm in the first round, but I didn’t want to stop the fight, so I decided to go on, but just out of pride. The game was already folded for me at that time. I’ll be back very soon, believe me!”, says the French-Algerian contender.

However, the forearm injury wasn’t the only one sustained by Hadbi against Al-Selawe. “Fast Hands” also had to deal with a lip laceration, that was corrected after the event by a small reconstructive surgery.

The loss to Al-Selawe was the first in his Brave Combat Federation career and also the first time since September of 2015 that Hadbi tasted defeat in MMA. He started off his Brave tenure with two No Contests, against Carl Booth and Mohammad Fakhreddine, but ended up knocking “Fakhro” out in the immediate rematch, setting himself up for a big fight against Al-Selawe.

Brave 12: KHK Legacy marked the first foray into South East Asian for the biggest MMA promotion in the Middle East. In the main event, Eldar Eldarov came back after a year-long layoff to beat Brian Hooi. However, former UFC fighters Mehdi Baghdad and Leonardo Mafra were defeated in their promotional debuts, being beaten by Pawel Kielek and Gadzhimusa Gaziev, respectively.
