Tate vs McMann, Bigfoot vs Mir Announced

Two big fight announcements were made yesterday in regards to next year’s UFC 183 and 184.

Fresh from back-to-back wins over Liz Carmouche and Rin Nakai,  Miesha Tate hopes to get back in the race for another shot at champion Ronda Rousey with a win over Sara McMann. An Olympic Silver medalist in freestyle wrestling, McMann rebounded from the only loss of her career to Rousey with a hard-fought decision win over Lauren Murphy in August. SaraMcMann_Headshot

The two 135-pound ladies will meet at UFC 183 which is headlined by the returning Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz on Feb.

bigfootAntonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva vs Frank Mir will take place at UFC 184, Feb. 28 in Los Angeles, California.

Also on that card are Vitor Belfort vs. Chris Weidman (for UFC middleweight championship) and Cat Zingano vs. Ronda Rousey (for UFC women’s bantamweight championship).

Mir, a former UFC heavyweight champion, is currently on a four-fight losing streak. A loss to Bigfoot, particularly a definitive one, would likely mean his release.frank
