The Korean Zombie wants at least one more UFC fight before hanging up his gloves
UFC featherweight contender The Korean Zombie says that he wants at least one more UFC fight before hanging up his gloves.
The Korean Zombie is one of the top-five ranked featherweights on the UFC roster. Still, he is now age 35 and coming off of a brutal knockout loss to champion Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 273, and in the wake of that loss, he was considering retiring from MMA. Considering he has fought in MMA since 2007 and he has taken a lot of damage over the years due to all of the epic wars he has competed in, it’s not a complete surprise to hear that he was considering stepping away from MMA.
However, after mulling things over the last few months, The Korean Zombie is now reconsidering his original plan of retiring. According to the man himself, he now wants to have at least one more UFC fight before he decides to hang up his gloves. The Korean Zombie still feels like he has something left to prove, and he’s asking the UFC for one more match, and preferably in Seoul.
“Maybe it’s because I’m old, maybe I don’t have the skills, so it’s always been my goal to show it on stage, but it’s not always been like that. I couldn’t prove it even in the last match, but I am particularly disappointed. I have a lot of regrets about myself rather than an excuse for the results. I am not saying that the match was not 100% me, but I think it is right to show it as a match like my belief, so I want to play another match in the next match. I can’t set long-term goals. First of all, we will do it in Seoul. Please open a match,” The Korean Zombie wrote on his Instagram recently.
