Tony Ferguson shifts focus to Conor McGregor

UFC lightweight star, Tony Ferguson, has shifted his sights onto fellow UFC superstar, Conor McGregor.

Earlier this month, Ferguson (25-7-0) had set his eyes on a potential coaching opportunity for the next season of The Ultimate Fighter. His pick for the opposing coach was former lightweight champion and undefeated mixed martial artist, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Just recently, however, Ferguson has shifted his focus onto McGregor, taking to Twitter to call out the former double champion.

The callouts come following Michael Chandler’s vicious knockout over Ferguson at UFC 274. Despite being on a four-fight losing skid, Ferguson remains in the top 10 of the lightweight division, having beaten some of the best 155-pounders in the UFC. Those on his win list include Edson Barboza, Rafael dos Anjos, and Donald Cerrone. Sitting right at number 8 in the division, Ferguson looks to add McGregor to that list.

McGregor (22-6-0), is still looking to return to the octagon after suffering a broken ankle at UFC 264. As the former featherweight and lightweight champion, he has collected victories over Max Holloway, Jose Aldo, and Nate Diaz, just to name a few.

It is unclear who Ferguson and McGregor will be matched up with next, but this matchup isn’t off the table.

Would you like to see a Tony Ferguson vs. Conor McGregor matchup? How would you see it going down?
