Jesse Taylor

TUF winner Jesse Taylor involved in hit and run, out of Cage Warriors 148 main event

Capping off a tumultuous 2022, Cage Warriors 148 loses its main event title fight between Jesse Taylor and Christian Leroy Duncan due to Taylor being involved in a hit and run in the early hours of the morning at 1 AM.

According to Cage Warriors president, Graham Boylan, Taylor was taken to the hospital and kept overnight. He received an MRI and other checks and was released at 8:30 AM local time. Boylan said that the main event will now be the other title fight between Modestas Bukauskas and Chuck Campbell.

Jesse Taylor, Cage Warriors, Hit and Run

These things happen in MMA. Taylor, who Boylan assures us is okay, is now out of his fight. The 33-16 veteran was set for his Cage Warriors title fight against a tough and undefeated Duncan at CW 148. Taylor was a two veteran from The Ultimate Fighter, snagging wins over James Krause via guillotine and Dhiego Lima via rear naked choke in season 25. In season 7, Taylor beat Tim Credeur and Mike Dolce.

In addition to The Ultimate Fighter, Taylor has competed twice in the UFC, losing to C.B. Dollaway and the win over Lima in the TUF finale in 2017. He’s competed in grappling in Submission Underground, Fight 2 Win, the Combat Jiu Jitsu Worlds, and EBI.

His MMA experience includes fights in ACA, The Ultimate Fighter, ACB, KSW, WSOF, Strikeforce, and DREAM in addition to his fights in the UFC and Cage Warriors. Taylors notable wins include Credeur, Murilo Bustamante, Kendall Grove, John Phillips, and Dheigo Lima. This was a big moment for Jesse Taylor and hopefully the fight can be rebooked.

Without the Jesse Taylor-Christian Leroy Duncan matchup, Cage Warriors 148 is still a fun card that any fight fan will enjoy. Fans will remember names like Modestas Bukauskas, Darren Stewart and Wilson Reis from their runs in the UFC. But Cage Warriors has a plethora of homegrown talent and names like Sam Creasey, Shajidul Haque, Tuomas Gronvall, Chasen Blair and Nathan Fletcher are all names you won’t want to miss.
