TUF winner, Julianna Pena has her next fight scheduled, less than one year after she was devastated by injury.
Pena will fight Milana Dudieva on April 4 in Fairfax, Virginia.
Pena tweeted this out regarding her injury and comeback “Wierd #funfact. 1 year ago today I suffered a serious knee injury. feb6 2014 I had knee surgery. It hasn’t even been a year! #whoop #wmma”
The Ultimate Fighter season 18 winner blew her leg out during a gym workout last year and UFC president Dana White got on twitter and blasted her teammates and gym for letting it happen. According to White, Pena was picked on and virtually attacked by a male teammate, contributing to her serious leg injury.
Pena underwent surgery and is said to have recovered extremely well.
Russia’s Dudieva is unbeaten in three straight, including an August 2014 victory over Elizabeth Phillips in her Octagon debut. Phillips’ teammate Pena, who became the first woman to win TUF in 2013, will be looking for a little payback against Dudieva on April 4.Follow MyMMANews.com on Social Media
