UFC 245 results: Petr Yan overpowers, KO’s Urijah Faber

The UFC closes out their pay-per-view calendar year on Saturday night in with one of the most stacked cards of 2019. UFC 245 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and will be capped off with three world title fights, including the highly anticipated main event for the welterweight title between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington.

Opening up the main card is in intriguing bantamweight matchup between the young and surging Petr Yan taking on Hall of Famer Urijah Faber. The 26-year-old Yan will look to improve his Octagon record to 6-0 on Saturday night. In his most recent appearance, “No Mercy” defeated Jimmie Rivera via unanimous decision at UFC 238 in June. A win over a multiple time world title challenger may push him to the top of title contention at 135-pounds.

After a brief retirement, Faber returned at UFC Sacramento in July against Ricky Simon. “The California Kid” went on to shock the MMA community when he finished Simon in less than a minute. The 40-year-old Faber hopes a victory over Yan will get him an opportunity to fight Henry Cejudo in 2020 for the bantamweight title.
