UFC 247 results: Justin Tafa stuns Juan Adams with first round TKO
On Saturday night, Feb. 8, 2020, the UFC returns to action for their second pay-per-view event of the year, which includes two world championship bouts.
UFC 247 takes place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas and will be headlined by Jon Jones defending his light heavyweight title against Dominick Reyes. In the co-main event, Valentina Shevchenko defends her women’s flyweight title against Katlyn Chookagian.
In a main card heavyweight matchup, Houston native Juan Adams takes on Justin Tafa in a fight where both men may be fighting for their jobs. Adams has dropped back-to-back fights to Arjan Bhullar and, most recently, a first-round TKO loss to Greg Hardy in July. “The Kraken”, who recently moved his training camp to JacksonWink at the end of 2019, earned his UFC roster spot after finishing Shawn Teed on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2018.
Tafa made his Octagon debut at October’s UFC 243 event and was finished in the first round by fellow debutante Yorgan de Castro. Tafa, a protege of Mark Hunt, makes his fifth professional appearance and looks to get back on track after winning his first three fights.
