UFC 247 results: Valentina Shevchenko dominates, stops Katlyn Chookagian

On Saturday night, Feb. 8, 2020, the UFC returns to action for their second pay-per-view event of the year, which includes two world championship bouts.

UFC 247 takes place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas and will be headlined by Jon Jones defending his light heavyweight title against Dominick Reyes.

In the co-main event, Valentina Shevchenko defends her women’s flyweight title against Katlyn Chookagian.

Shevchenko, who is as high as a -1400 favorite heading into the fight, will look to continue her dominance in the women’s 125-pound division. “The Bullet” captured the title when she defeated longtime strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 231 via unanimous decision. Shevchenko has gone on to defend the title with a vicious second round KO over Jessica Eye, along with a one-sided unanimous decision win over Liz Carmouche in the main event of UFC Uruguay in August.

Chookagian gets her long awaited shot at the title after winning four out of her five fights at 125-pounds. “Blonde Fighter” lost a close split decision to Eye at UFC 231 in December 2018 and has bounced back with back-to-back wins over Joanne Calderwood at UFC 238 and, most recently, Jennifer Maia at UFC 244 in November. If Chookagian were to capture the title on Saturday night, it would go down as one of the biggest betting upsets in UFC title fight history.

Here is how the women’s flyweight title fight between Valentina Shevchenko and Katlyn Chookagian went down at UFC 247, including round-by-round scoring. For full results of the event, check them out right here.
