UFC 250 results: Devin Clark hands Alonzo Menifield first loss with decision win

On Saturday night, June 6, the UFC holds its first-ever pay-per-view event inside the Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

The promotions’ fifth event during the COVID-19 pandemic, UFC 250 is headlined by double champion Amanda Nunes, who defends her featherweight strap against Felicia Spencer.

The co-main event is a bantamweight clash between former champion Cody Garbrandt and Raphael Assuncao.

On the preliminary card is a light-heavyweight matchup between Devin Clark and Alonzo Menifield.

Opposite styles collide as Clark has won all five of his octagon victories by unanimous decision. He most recently defeated Dequan Townsend at UFC on ESPN+25 on Feb. 15.

Menifield, who is undefeated at 9-0, is yet to go past the second round. Spending close to a year away from the octagon, Menifield is coming off a first-round TKO finish against Paul Craig at UFC on ESPN 3 in June 2019.

Menifield has Clark against the cage and lands short shots. The two separate, Menifield walks him down and puts him against the cage. Clark is against the cage, taking some knees from Menifield. Clark lets his ahnds go and lands big with a right hand. Menifield puts Clark against the cage. Clark lands a knee to the body. Menifield ends the round with Clark against the cage.

Both come center early, Clark lands. Menifield comes back and lands with a combination against Menifield. Menifield puts Clark against the cage. Menifield clinches with Clark, lands a knee to the body. Both men trading here in the second. Menifield closes the distance and puts Clark against the cage. Menifield looking for a thai clinch. Clark separates and lands a right hand. Menifield remains in the center, lands a uppercut and an overhand right. The two separate, Menifield lands a jab. Clark gets into the clinch and lands a knee. Menifield puts Clark against the cage. Clark reverses position and lands a knee to the body. Menifield pins Clark against the cage, Clark lands some inside kicks in the clinch. Menfield reverses, but Clarks gets the position right back. Menifield reverses. Clark separates and lets his hands fly.

ROUND 3

Menifield lands a leg kick and a right hand. The two clinch, but separate. Menifield lands a knee, followed by another. Clark shoots for a takedown, but Menfiield defends. Menifield puts Clark against the cage. Menifield changes levels and gets in on the legs of Clark. Clark reverses and lands a knee. Clark has Menifield against the cage. Clark lands a takedown and immediately takes the back. Clark lands some ground and pound on Menifield. Menifield tries to get his back against the cage, shrimping back. Menifield is working to his feet. The two separate, but sticking to the script, the two get into the clinch quickly. Menfiield puts Clark against the cage. Menifield stays glued to Clark. Both men throwing of the clinch. Clark lands a right hand. to end the round.
