UFC 265 weigh-in results – Lewis vs. Gane for interim heavyweight title
The UFC will host UFC 265 tomorrow night at the Toyoto Center in Houston, Texas. In the night’s main event, former UFC heavyweight title contender Derrick Lewis will try for a second time to capture his first title with the promotion.
Lewis and Ciryl Gane will compete for the vacant UFC interim heavyweight championship while contract negotiations between current champion Francis Ngannou are still sorted out. Gane’s accuracy proved superior in a unanimous decision win over Alexander Volkov at UFC Fight Night 190 on June 26 which set him up against “Black Beast” here this weekend.
Gane mixed up his strikes with punches and kicks, outpointing the taller Volkov throughout all five rounds.
In the evening’s co-main event spot, former featherweight champion Jose Also will meet Pedro Munoz at bantamweight.
