Official Result: Marc-Andre Barriault def. Eryk Anders via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Barriault sits Anders down with a well placed right hand 30 seconds into round one, and from here each man take turns beating the hell out of one another. Much of the first was spent in the clinch, each of them landing knees to the body and head, as well as punches to the body and head.

Barriault does land a good left hand that backs Anders up at the end of the round, and also handily stuffed all four of his takedown attempts through the first five minutes.

Anders has a much better second round. Securing his first takedown of the fight midway through the middle stretch, Anders really pushed the pace on Barriault in this round, which was surprising because that’s what Barriault is known for.

And just as Anders has a better round two, Barriault has a better third and final round as he really begins to pull away on the striking totals. He tags Anders with a number of solid combinations throughout whilst stuffing every takedown attempt coming his way.

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was scrolling through the channels and landed upon Versus, where WEC was televised. Urijah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. That's the first fight I ever saw, and I was immediately hooked. So eventually, I began covering the sport in the fourth quarter of 2018, and have since started writing about animals as well.
