UFC Fight Night 126 results – Cerrone vs. Medeiros

The Ultimate Fighting Championship held a rare Sunday night fight card with UFC Fight Night 126 tonight in Austin, Texas. The lineup was headlined by welterweights, Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone and Yancy Medeiros and took place at the Frank Erwin Center. Boy oh boy did this fight deliver.  Just what you would expect.  These two stood and banged….. and Cerrone gets a technical knockout win with just two seconds left in the first round.

The Texas natives were on fire tonight in Austin.  No doubt about that. Derrick ‘Black Beast’ Lewis gets back in the win column with a third round knockout over Marcin Tybura.

James Vick dislocated his pinkie in his bout with Francisco Trinaldo but was able to pull out a unanimous decision.   He’s now 9-1 in the UFC.

Curtis Millender made an impressive UFC debut with a knockout win over long time organizational veteran Thiago Alves.

Katy, Texas’ own Sage Northcutt opened up the FS1 main card with a unanimous decision win over Thibault Gouti.  This was Northcutt’s first full camp with Team Alpha Male and “Mr.” Faber, Urijah Faber.

Diego Ferreira, another Texas resident, locked up the arm of Jared Gordon and just pummeled his way to victory in the main preliminary bout on FS1.

Geoff Neal, an Austin native, made his UFC debut with a quick submission win over Brian Camozzi.

It was a battle between two fighters named Sanchez.  Houston native Roberto Sanchez defeated Joby Sanchez in just 1:50 in their fight on FS1.

The first female UFC fighter from the Czech Republic, Lucie Pudilova, had her way with Sarah Moras in the first televised fight of the night.  Both women, battered and bloodied, put on a hell of a war.  Pudilova would earn the nod on the judges’ scorecards in a bout that could possibly end up as the fight of the night.
