Gerald Meerschaert Moves Forward Like The Terminator To Secure The Finish
The UFC is back tonight at the UFC Apex for UFC Fight Night. In the main event, Edson Barboza and Giga Chikadze go to battle in a featherweight matchup airs on ESPN. The co-main event is a battle between Bryan Battle and Gilbert Urbina. The main event began at 10 PM EST. on ESPN and ESPN+.
This ESPN fight card will begin with a bout between two middleweights, Makhmud Muradov and Gerald Meerschaert. These two fighters are looking for a victory to climb the ladder in the UFC middleweight rankings. The winner should take a huge leap if they can pull out the win via a finish.

Round 1: Mark Smith is the third man in the cage. GM3 puts the pressure on right away. Throwing a nice kick after a little flurry. An eye poke took place early when GM3 was trying to counter. Action returns after MM is okay. GM3 gets caught by a shot on the shit and feels it. GM3 trying to weather the storm of MM. GM3 trying to answer back with some outside kicks. MM tossing his big right hand. MM lands another bight right hand. GM3 goes in for a takedown but doesn’t get close to scoring it. MM landing a couple more big strikes. GM3 lands a left hand and then lands another. MM catches GM3’s body kick. GM3 catches MM in the nuts with a nasty left leg kick flush to the cup. MM was down on the ground in pain trying to catch his breath after his testies probably were launched into his stomach. MM taking his time to recover. Action resumes. MM comes forward with a front kick. Gm3 lands a big left hand. GM3 lands a left head kick and then takes a right hand to the jaw. MM lands a nice inside calf kick. Gm3 lands another left hand. and claims the back of a stunned MM. 15-seconds remaining with Gm3 on his back pushing on MM’s neck.
Round 2: GM3 comes in right away and gets caught with a right making him stumble. GM3 is back to pressuring MM and throwing that left hand. Gm3 gets a takedown via an ankle pick of a kick. Gm3 lands a couple more left hands pushing MM back against the cage. The two fighters clinch up and GM3 gets the back of MM. Now GM3 has the neck of MM and forces MM to tap with a Rear Naked Choke. GM3 scored the victory at 1:49 in the round.
Gm3 move of the fight was the shrug by while in the clinch and takes the back of MM which led to the submission. Meerschaert showed some serious toughness as he pushed through the numerous strikes MM landed on him in the first and second rounds. He continued pushing forward like the terminator with the exposed red eye.
Gerald Meerschaert defeated Makhmod Muradov via submission due to Rear Naked Choke in round 2, at 1:49.
