UFC Signs Muhammad Mokaev: Undefeated Flyweight Prospect and Most Decorated Amateur of All Time
The UFC has announced the signing of undefeated flyweight Muhammad Mokaev.
One of the most highly regarded prospects in the world, Mokaev is unbeaten in his already storied 30-fight MMA career. Just 21 years old, “The Punisher” went 23-0 as an amateur, and his accolades are staggering:
- 2020 IMMAF Oceania Open Champion
- 2019 IMMAF World Champion
- 2019 IMMAF European Open Champion
- 2018 IMMAF Junior World Champion
- WCFC Champion
- Caged Steel Champion
- Tanko FC Champion
Mokaev turned pro in 2020, signing with Bahraini promotion BRAVE Combat Federation. He has since gone undefeated as a professional through 7 bouts, one ending in a No-Contest due to an accidental groin shot.
Perhaps the only thing more remarkable than Mokaev’s sporting achievements is his story. Originally born in Dagestan, Mokaev’s mother passed away when he was young. Shortly after her death, political issues forced Muhammad and his father Murad to flee Russia, sneaking into the UK where they became refugees.
With a personality as great as his technical skillset, Muhammad Mokaev is likely to become a name to remember in MMA.
